I love you guys Rey,Casey,Rey jr,Marty,Patrick, and Trevin!!!I am so happy for you guys. You seriously deserve it. I am also 13!!! I love you guys.~^.^~
- Kelsey, Manchester

I hate to tell you Doug, but 3000sqft is not a mansion. If you think it is, I understand why you are jelous of this one. This show is about helping one person at a time and trying to get others to help more in communities all of the U.S.
- Rob, Chandler, AZ

i have to say, living right near them, that it has been a wonderful experience and i cant wait for the show to air. i am so happy, i have known these people my whole life and i consider rey one of my best friends. you guys are awesome. MUCH LUCK VOISINES!
- Michelle, Manchester

You all are amazing!!!

This builder stopped his entire company for 2 MONTHS!!! to build this home, have you been by there? It is beautiful and the Vosine family was so deserving. Do you think that sometimes life works in interesting ways.

As a volunteer on site and taking care of all of these WONDERFUL sub-contractors that did everything for free for Reggie and RJ Moreau, I am changed for life at the wonderful spirit of Manchester.

The airdate party is at the Verizon Arena on January 27, come by and see the community that built this home!
- Meredith, Manchester

While I'm not criticizing the family for their windfall, I look at others who have had their share of bad luck, and I see Habitat for Humanity who build smaller homes who use volunteers, and I think this show does a lot of good for needy people, BUT from what I've heard has gone into this home, I have to question the judgement in building this bohemoth.
I agree with another writer who suggested they sell this house, buy 2 smaller homes, and pay for the kid's college.
- Billl, Milford

Congrats to the Voisine Family.Who cares about what people have to say.At least he is taking care and will be taking care of his family.Any other man would have probably walked away and left the family, with no place to go.It's nice to see americans helping americans.Good luck and God bless you
- laurie, manchester n.h.

I am so glad for the Voisine family. I know of the difficulty that the floods of last year created for a lot of people. I can't imagine how it must feel to loose your home.
It is also great to know that there is good out in the world, which most of the time we never hear of it. Thanks to Extreme Makeover. It shows the Ameican spirit and what this country is realy about . One person helping another can make a difference. Thanks to Extreme Makeover for a show that remindes us what is important. The American Family!!!

Welcome Home Voisines Family

I am sure Emhe is use to getting some heat from a few judgemental people. But this is the 2nd time they have been to the top of N.E. and have been critized for their work. We would all love to have beautiful homes Emhe is able to build for these unfortunate families and that is part of the idea for the show. It gives us all a chance to fantasize what it would be like to have someone build a luxury home for us. I love the show and think it is wonderful they are doing 1 home in all 50 states. Grow up people life is what you make of it. The disgruntled obviously are unhappy people that have never stood in the Voisine's shoes. Someone thought they deserved a 2nd chance and they now have it. Get over it.
- Cindy, Dover

I love this show. I am nurse at a Nursing home and when I am passing out meds, I try to see as much of it as I can and I cry at each show. I think it is awesome how thousands of people pull togheter to help those less fortunate. My son. was a chosen volunteer and I am so proud of him. I plan on being there when the family returns to see their new home! I will bring plentyof tissues with me, maybe a couple of boxes.
- Denise Gelinas, Manchester

I would like to thank all of you who have congratulated the family and not slandered them. To those of you who are talking poorly about them, go ahead and be negative, it's a little something called karma. These people have done nothing but work hard in hopes of being able to rebuild what they have lost. What in Gods name gives you the right to tell Rey he needs to get a "real job?" What gives you the right to say they should have done more to get assistance? What gives you the right to be a completely inconsiderate hot-headed person? Absolutely nothing gives you that right. It's quite sad that you are so down on yourself that you have to try and bring others down with you in hopes you can walk all over them to get back up. Your comments have done nothing but motivate more people to get out there and help, so in a way; thank you for that. You can step down off your high horse now.
- Courtney LeClaire, Nashua

When are they coming home on the 25th, I would love to be there!
- Dude, Manchester

I think rob is a selfish, spoiled and misguided person.I am sure if the same situation happened to him, he wouldn't be so high and mighty telling this family how they should have lived their lives.
- elaine, hooksett

Come on people grow up a little. Just be happy for the family. Stop being jealous and enjoy that EMHE actually came to Manchester.
- cassaundra, Manchester

I just want to say that there are of course many people who lost homes during the floods, Merrimack was hard hit as well. Some people rebuilt and lost their homes for the second time around. It is a GodSend that ABC is doing this. They are doing it one family at a time. This family is a very deserving family. What difference does it make if he sells books. If he had a job making $200k a yr someone would say he makes too much money to deserve this. The guy is an honest dad making a living to take care of his kids. Jealousy is not a positive trait in anyone. GOD BLESS THIS FAMILY. And all the people Positive and Negative. Where there is God there are always miracles.
- Candy, Merrimack NH

I am amazed at thid world of negativity. Then when no one is looking someone does somethig so unbelievable it almost knocks us off our feet. I think this show is unbelievable! I am always crying when i see the shows because i feel so warmed inside that there are good people who actually care and will donate their time and money to help those less fortunate.
- christi, Milford

What is the big deal here ? A well deserving family is getting some much needed help. I know first hand what it is to be worrying about losing your home, I am going through that myself right now ! As a result my health is being deeply affected. These parents need help & they should get it ! The one thing that is bothering me is the fact that they may might not be able to keep up w/ the expense & taxes. My hope is that when this good deed is done Extreme Makeover will hand them a paid up deed to the property. They seem like good parents & are raising good kids & deserve all that they can get.
GOD BLESS THEM !!
- Pat Fraser, Hampton, N H

I am an electrician on this project, and have been involved with some of the planning meetings for a few weeks. Yes, it would be nice to build a smaller simpler home for a few families - that what the shows producers and creator explained to us - but that doesn't earn the ratings and attention that the television show gets and that, in turn, may not see the level of support that each community gives to these projects. Also, the producers do more that create a home for a family. They obtain the service of a local CPA who assist the family with creating a budget and control spending to enable them to maintain and live in their new home. After building 106 new homes for families, the creator of the show said that not one of the families helped have lost or been forced to sell their house. Lastly, kudos to the decent neighbor that set up a projector, so we could view the Red Sox game on the side of their house!
- Neal Brown, Manchester

I think this show is great, and I love how they go and help families, nobody asks for bad credit, things happen. I am so happy for the voisine family. I think Ty made a good decision in choosing this family. This family is on there way to rebuilding their credit and having a better home which may withstand what nature may throw at them. Congradulations. I am so excited for you. Enjoy your new home.
- Diane Nicol, Mdbury, NH. 03823

Congradulations, I think that's great!! I know that it's gonna be a great experience because my uncle/cousins are volunteering and you cant get much better...!
- Amber, Londonderry

I am very happy for the Voisine family and I hope they will have many years of happiness in their new home. I wonder, though, why this good deed evokes so many negative comments. EMHE built a home earlier this year about 30 miles from me. I read the articles and watched the news reports with an excitement that my not have equaled that of the homeowner but, to me, it seemed like it might have. The project drew one of the largest groups of volunteers EMHE had seen up to that point. Several stories came out during and after the project of folks in other parts of the Capital District being so inspired by the EMHE project that they ended up banding together to help neighbors with much-needed repairs and other projects. However, in the midst of all of this feel-good activity, there were the detractors. People came out of the woodwork to give their reasons why the homeowner was less than deserving. It broke my heart and I wondered how the EMHE crew, who I'm sure were aware of this negativity, continues to be so positive and upbeat. Sure there are other people out there who need a new home. Sure, I would love for them to come here and build one for me. But that doesn't diminish the happiness I feel for a family who is receiving this gift. Best of luck to you, Voisine family, and thank you, EMHE crew for helping folks who need it, one house at a time.
- Anne, Nassau, NY

To all that had to be so negative; in a negative world that we live in and where a city that has had many sad moments (ie the death of a police officer, flooding, rapes, robberies and many other tragic event) why cant you all just be grateful that instead of dreading turning on the News we can actually look forward to some amazing news.. To those that made a comment about Mr.Voisine's job what does it matter to you. At least he has a job, and if you have children, everytime they pick up a school book you might want to be thankful for his job. I suggest that if you want to say something negative take a look at your life first and actually evaluate where the hostile thoughts are coming from.

To the Voisine family we are Happy for you and no one deserves a better blessing then you guys. May God Bless you even further.
- Tania, Weare, NH

Today I saw busloads of people in my community on their way to help build a house for a deserving family. It was heartwarming to see my very own community coming together, in a time of need, for one of our own. To anybody out there finding negativity in this; ask yourself this. If your family was swept away by a flood or other natural disaster for that matter, would you say "no" to EMHE when they showed up at your door?? I think not. This is a wonderful thing that is happening, and if you still want to say something negative...go ahead....but before you do, please go over to the site and volunteer some help. If you still feel like you must spew out negativity after doing such a great thing for somebody in need...be my guest. This is a tremendous outpouring of caring in our community. It is a GOOD thing. Now DEAL with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Catherine, Manchester

CONGRATULATIONS VOISINE FAMILY... I am very happy for this family and god bless them and all the volunteers I dont believe what the father does for a living matters atleast he is supporting his family and its only their business to worry about affording the taxes and other bills I am sure it wont be too much more than paying $900 to $1000 a month for an apartment that they dont have to pay anymore again congratulations voisine family
- Beth, NH

EJ, Manchester. What? Me jealous? You and all you other bleeding hearts just don't get the point. You are just like the envious jury awarding 3 million to the little old lady who spilled hot coffee on herself. Nobody says these people aren't deserving, just that they don't need the expense or expanse of a 3000 sq ft home--spread the wealth around a little. There are plenty of deserving people out there. So sorry to upset your 15 minutes.
- Doug, Dover

This is to Rob from Exeter...how could you be heartless? Being a single mother of one daughter is hard enough but having four children can be overwhelming. This family is deserving and if there were more people out there willing to sacrafice a little more then people would be able to live more comfortably.
It is not easy trying to make ends meet. What is so bad about getting help from others?
- Kathy, Malden, MA

Wow, I am amazed at how one random act can stir up so many positive and negative feelings. I had intended to stay anonymous as the writer of the email that started this whole amazing project. Unfortunately, fellow members of the school staff where I work have given me up so I felt that I could now voice my feelings about many of the things written about this project in Manchester. When I first sent the email last year, I never thought that a project like this would really happen here. Why would they choose my email and this family? I sent the email because of something I saw on WMUR. They were looking for NH families that could use some help. I immediately thought of the Voisine's because they are part of the Parker-Varney family, the school where I am a teacher. They were devastated my the Mother's Day flood of 2006. Honestly, I never thought that I would hear anything back. I was amazed when I did. I will never regret submitting this family for this honor and feel lucky to be observing such a tremendous outpouring from the community and the many volunteers. I must admit that I am also saddened by all the negative comments. I hope that the people who feel so negative about this project take a look at their lives to see what makes them feel this way. They should try and do just one random act of kindness. If they do they may be able to feel the joy that I am feeling knowing that my email started this whole thing. Take some time to enjoy the wonderful things that are happening. You never know what ripple effect can take place from one little act.

Also, no amount of negative talk can ever replace the happy feeling in my heart for this deserving family. Congratulations Voisine family I am very happy for you.
- Lisa, Manchester

these guys are doing great i was at the site this morning doing fence work an they have alot done so far...great efforts from everyone involved
- josh, manchester

I have known Reynald and Casey my whole entire life they are great people, I couldnt think of a better bunch for this to happen to. It is a shame that everyone is focusing on the negative instead of just being happy for this family something good is finally happening to them and through all the bad they have had they still smile and are still optimistic can you say that about yourself?!? you should admire them not be jealous, take a lesson from them instead of hating them ! I love you guys and wish you the best!
- Corrine Voisine, Goffstown, NH

wow. i can't say much to this negativity.
Extreme Makeover is an amazing work of charity. Why most of you are extending this to our society is sad. Let them do what they do great. There shouldn't be anything else to it.
- Karen, Nashua

OMG Reynald....I am sooooo happy for you I had no idea that all those terrible things had happened to you and your family......I am really glad that you guys have this oppertunity...I hope everything works out well for you and enjoy your new home!!!!! yeeeeaaaahhhhh!!!!
- Tammy Bond (one of the Morra's), Manchester

Congratulations Voisine Family.....it's so nice to see with all the negativity in this world that there are still guardian angels out there. In the olden days this was called barn raising where all the neighbors got together to help ......now adays its called Extreme Makeover Home Edition. Good Job Guys ! I cant wait to see the show.....
- kim, Litchfield

I am writing to first say congarts to the Voisine family and god bless all the people that are building their home (where they so deserve to be). Some of you are being rude. If this was you getting something would you want people to trash you, how much money you make, or what you did for a living? Grow up and be happy for the family. Again congrats Voisine family!
- Laura, Manchester

Those of you that are negative -are you jealous, were you not raised hearing the phrase "if you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all". Suck it up, this isn't your life that's meant to be improved, it's someone elses and if you weren't so green with envy you'd realize that this is a good family and regardless of how many kids they have it's the morals and values that dictate the family and not the amount of money in the bank or the size house they live in or the type of car they drive.
Bad things happen to good people. If the roles were reversed would you like a reprieve and the chance at a new beginning? Regardless of who you are, the answer is going to be "yes". This isn't about you, it's about someone else, so get over it and deal with it. It's time we all just be thankful that NH can still find it in ourselves to donate our time, money, and goods as NH is known for being one of the greediest, least likely to donate states in the country.
Congratulations Voisine family!
- J, Manchester

Congratulations!! It must be quite the honor to have Extreme Makeover Home Edition come knocking at your door at 8am. OMG How excited they must be!! I agree that maybe some company is out there looking for the skills that Mr. Voisine has. I didn't think that the selling books from door to door existed. This would be a great place for the company to help this family out even more. If you have a job please offer Mr. Voisine one. Again Congratulations Voisine Family.
- jill, merrimack

Well, after reading the comments posted by the bards, I only can say "You are all a bunch of jealous, sorry crybabies." This story is not about a war, or taxes, or your own misery. It is a well deserved lift to some very good people that have endured some very difficult times. Rey and I met when his boys and mine first started playing ball together. Each of us was coaching one ot the others' boys, and we became friends. But, It was all I could do to get Rey's attention if one of his kids was around, since he absolutley was starry-eyed for them.I have encountered few men who have Rey's compassion and caring for his family. Some of you forget that a man being INVOLVED in his children's daily lives is far more important than what he chooses for his vocation. This family is an example of people getting what they deserve, and what the Voisines needed was a little help. Good for you, Rey, Casey, and boys. God bless you all.
- Scott & Linda Cullen, formerly Manchester,NH

I don't know why people have to take a good deed like this and use it for a time to bash others. This show and it's people do a lot of good for many. I have participated in this show and it is a wonderful experience for all those involved (the family and volunteers). To be around so many nice people who are there to help and don't think twice about what there doing, you can't even imagine how it feels until you are a part of it. I would do it again no matter who the family is. "Thank you Extreme Makover for the wonderful experience (Athens, VT), the fun and the new outlook on life." Debbie (McD's)
- Debbie, Perkinsville, VT

I would just like to say that Reynald is not a door to door salesman but that he sells books to the schools that your children go to so there for you should be thankfull for him and not be jealous of him, congratulations Rey, Casey and boys you deserve it.SEE YOU SOON
- David Voisine, Manchester

Doug,Dover -- Sounds to me you are a selfifish jelous poor soul. Instead of being happy for this family struck by tragedy You have to complain about a National TV Production. If you want 4 or 5 or more homes done write a check (sizeable of course) send it to your Mayor ask for state & local assistance and start your own prodject. When you complete this start your own show on TV and then complain about a good cause for a Good Family. When you do that I will volenteer my air & power tools and my skills as a licensed builder to get a Local Program like this started and do many prodjects like this on a smaller but needed scale. Thank You, EJ
Ps It is OK for UL to give you my email address and/or cell phone OK. Please respond?????
- E J, Manchester

To rOB FROM Exeter, HOW DARE YOU JUDGE SOMEONE BASED ON THEIR PROFESSION!!!!! Please clarify what a "Real Job" is. Maybe you should take a few lessons from the Voisine family about what hard work and raising 4 great children is all about. Knowing them personally makes statements like yours unfounded.
- Brian, Manchester

Debbie and Doug- When YOU get YOUR
own show, YOU can do whatever you want. You sound like a couple of armchair quarterbacks.
- Tyler, Farmington

Congratulations to the Voisine family. Having also completly lost my home in the mothers day floods I know just how tough things are for this family I was fortunate to be able to rebuild my home with an SBA loan and from so much help and support from friends, family, and even complete strangers. No one can truly understand what this family has been through unless they have been there. Having lived this nightmare I can truly be completed happy for them with no judgement at all. They deserve this much needed help. Way to go.
- Mary, Milton

It's so sad that some of the people who have posted are so miserable. Anyone who knows the Voisine's know what good people they are. They are honest and hard-working. Rey is lucky enough to have a job where he can be home in the afternoons with his kids and volunteer numerous hours coaching his boy's baseball teams. This family KNOWS what is important in life - FAMILY. Congratulations to a wonderful family!
- Tina, Manchester

Through the eyes of a child.
Looking out your window and wondering where your home went and why. The playground where you once played. Now a over grown empty lot with only the memories of what home use to be. You see the swing set, but you are unable to play. Not because you are too big, but because it is now unsafe. For parents to be able to hear their children playing once again in their own yard, that will be the happiest moment for them.
Thank you to all the volunteers!
and
Congratulations to the Voisine family!
- Judy, Manchester

Congratulations Voisine's! Im so happy for them. It couldnt of happened to a more deserving family. The reason why the TV show is popular is b/c of its 3000sq ft homes and how beautiful they are. Its amazing they can do someone like that for people that deserve it. Not everyone has gone through such awful situations......................................No one can judge that. Im sure the show does exactly what needs to be done including a plan for how the family will maintain it!! The mayor is visiting and everything its a huge deal. They family will be set for along time!!!!! Everyone is donating things, work, materials, appliances!! PSNH is prob. in on it too!
- Christine, Manchester

Who sells books door to door anymore anyway? What kind of books does he sell? I didn't even know that occupation existed anymore...
- Cate, Tempe, AZ

Congrats to the family! Yes, many people suffered from the floods last year and this family happens to have gotten luck in their corner. I'm disgusted with anyone questioning what the father or mother does for work...who asked you?! Or people complaining or calling out Ty and basically calling him an egomaniac...all I'm hearing is a bunch of boohooing from a few JEALOUS people. Don't worry about their taxes and such..that's their business, not yours!
- Leslie, Derry

Someone just mentioned giving this man a new job. Well the show doesn't end for what, 6 or 7 days? How about some company goes to Ty and says "Ty, I like to give this man a better paying job so he and his family can live a little better". Here's your chance to be on national TV "your company name here".
- J, Manchester

Rey and Casey are hardworking people that came upon a series of bad luck. It's nice to see that good people, who try hard, raise good kids and do right by others get a break.
For those of you that don't know the family personally,Reynold and Casey are totally devoted to their family,Rey is a salesman and a good one at that. They lost their home because of a flood and nothing more -it was not because of any poor financial decisions on their part.Congratulations Cuz!
You're family deserves this.Enjoy your trip and your new home!
- bruce madore, manchester

I totally agree with Doug from Dover. All the families are very deserving of new homes but do they really have to be that big. They could help out so many more families if they were smaller. With the house that was built last week for the single mom, it was gorgeous. I know her mortgage was paid off but her taxes and utility bills will be alot higher. I don't know the Voisine family but after reading all the comments, they are definately well deserving of a new home. Congratulations!
- Debbie, Manchester

My heart goes out to the Voisine Family! I couldn't be happier for them! Let's keep in mind that its not the mission of EMHE to provide housing to millions. It is the vision of someone who wanted to give back in a unique way. I just wish I would have had the means and idea to do the same. What a great gift EMHE gives to those who are selected to receive it. And lets not forget about the volunteers who give of their time and donations so freely to make this project a success. I can find NOTHING negative about EMHE. BIG KUDOS TO RJ MOREAU!!!! I can't wait to see the show.
To the Voisine Family....BE BLESSED! You deserve it!
- Jackie L., Goffstown

Enough, these people both work and have a mortgage on a house they cant live in,pay rent for an apartment(which isnt cheap)of course they have financial issues(who wouldnt).I know of people that get plenty from the gov. by pumping out more children, who live with guys that dont support their families. Why can people not see like the show did that this family deserves the good that comes from this.
- karen shutt, manchester

Good for them. Hopefully they'll be able to sell the house and move into a normal sized house somewhere where property taxes arent through the roof, and have a bit of cash in the back for college or retirement. I have to admit I did laugh at the two-takes thing on the arrival. If I found out abruptly one more than my financial troubles were over AND I was going to be on TV, I'd probably be speechless too. I guess thats not good enough for the hour long Sears commercial. Whoops, I meant TV show.
- Brent Fisher, Bedford, NH

To all you sour grapes out there that are criticizing Mr. Voisines and family about his job as a door to door book salesman, what is your problem? He apparently was making enough to get the loan to buy the property in the first place and what do you know about their financial predicament? Here you are criticizing and you have no idea why they are the in the financial situation where they are. Come on people, can't you just be happy that someone else's life is being improved and that they are happy?
- Rob, Manchester

Congratulations Voisine Family. I hope that EMHE will build you a gorgeous home for you to call your own that you will be able to bring your home to. It is terrific that this is happening for your family.

Welcome Home Voisine Family!
- Jami, Manchester, NH

What I think is wonderful about this, is how Extreme Makeover drawing attention to a need in the community, so many NH residents are coming forward to volunteer to help. This is the way it should be, the community helping each other out. The more we help our own out the less we have to depend on the government for help. EMHE is such a great example! God Bless them and the Voisine family!
- Lillian, Manchester

I am so thrilled for this family. We have been without a house for 3 years, living with very giving friends and I know
personally how hard it is to rebuild once you are down. Thanks Extreme Makeover for blessing this family. They never could have recovered without you.
- Andra, Nashua

I think a husband and father of four kids should have a better job than selling books doot to door. Maybe someone can offer him a job.
- Shelley, Manchester

I think so people are missing the big Picture here . The floods of 2006 took it's toll on alot of people in NH I was hit not as bad as some of my friends ,But I was hit . The Voisine family wasn't as lucky as most they lost there house . Now EMHE has come and chose them for something out of a dream . Remember Manchester knew for over a month about this family being the one . Cant we all just be happy for them ,Basicly the are getting a new start on life and for that I am very happy . My daughter goes to school with one of the boys , SHe was telling about him , He is a good boy and well mannered which means to me his family has good morals which in these days is somtimes hard to find in people . All I think we should be saying is congrats to the Voisine family and before Ty says it I would like to Welcome Home Voisine family Welcome home .
- J, Manchester

CONGRATULATIONS VOISINE FAMILY!!!
I find it very telling that some people are using this opportunity to stand on a soap box to talk about what other people could have done.
Not one of them mentioned how much time they donate doing charity work each year.
I am going to guess they do none yet sit on their couch and point fingers.
Pathetic!
I could not be more happy for this family!
CONGRATULATIONS VOISINE FAMILY!!!
- Kevin, Bedford, NH

I am happy for the family they are getting a break! However, will they be able to pay the capital gains tax on this house as well as the house taxes every year? Couldn't EMHE build a more modest house and not a 3,000+ sq. foot one. Will it blend in with the neighborhood? If they (the family) couldn't afford to rebuild their house, how are they going to afford this gift of one? The taxes might be paid for a short time, but EMHE doesn't pay the taxes forever. How many people who were on the show had to sell their houses because they couldn't afford them? No one ever speaks about that do they?
- STA, Sanbornville

It is very sad that people can not just be happy. I think this is a wonderful that is being done. GO TY! I cannot help but to say this. The government does help people, the lazy, don't want to get a job, have 3-4 kids so they can collect money from the state, which unfortunately leaves nothing for the people who are struggling and working to make something for themselves and children that cannot get help because the state is two busy helping people that want a handout and do not want to help themselves. Why must everything beautiful and selfless thing turn political you should be ashamed.
- Kristine, Hooksett

fwiw, rey would've take a loan with 40% interest rate just to put something back on the lot for his family to live. the sba said they would assist in helping them replace what they lost with an sba loan. how hard is it assist those in need with a loan and lien against the property. the government had nothing to lose -- yet they made them jump through red tape all for not. they never intended on helping them replace anything... to busy in IRAQ. Priorities are out of whack that's all.
- steve, manchester

I find it incredible that people can take a gift like this and turn it into a gripe session about politics and taxes. How about we just wish the family well and thank ABC and Extreme Makeover for doing something great for a family in need.
- Brian, Hooksett

I hope this family can get their lives turned around now. I know all about medical bills and how they can make your financial situation look bad. Ihave accrued $100,000 in medical bilss this year and things are really bad for us, and we have not been hit with a natural disaster like this family. Way to go ABC, these people deserve help, and fema proved again they cant do anything correctly. I just hope and pray we never need them to help us.
- Bob, Grand Junction, Colorado

From a $100K house to a 3000 sq ft mansion--this is what disgusts me about this show. Instead of building 1 luxury home for 1 deserving family, how about building 4 simple, decent homes for 4 deserving families??? But I guess Ty's ego is just too big. I hope the owners of this new home are also given a bottomless checking account from which to pay the real estate taxes, and increased maintenance and energy costs.
- Doug, Dover

Wow, we slam the government and we slam the family receiving the new house. How about we just be happy for a family that has sustained a great loss and has been having a hard time of it lately. Who cares what Mr. Voisine does for a living? At least he's working.
- Mel, Manchester

WHAT A GREAT STORY!!!!Its nice to see so many willing to help.I met someone last night that is working on this home and he was so excited about helping this family. What great front page news instead of crime.GOD BLESS THE FAMILY AND VOLUNTEERS.
- karen shutt, manchester

Rob in Exeter, you are probably fortunate not to have ever endured a great loss like the Voisines have.It must be nice to be as fortunate as you are to be able to cast aspersians on a family who lost their home...that's right...their Home to a natural disaster. Ok, so their credit may not be good but, it wasn't important because they had their Home to live in and they were making it work. Not everybody can have perfect credit. Unfortunately, issues to come up where people may have to make choices and I can guarantee you one thing, if it was a decision to pay a credit card or put food on the table, food goes on the table first. You don't know this family. You don't know what happened to them. Who are you to bash the guy's job. What makes you a better person? How about this...the guy is working. His wife is working. They have 4 kids. They lost their home. Show some compassion. Your comments are very short sighted. Maybe you don't know what it is like to lose things in your life but in the end, when you lose the one thing you work so hard for and then can't ever recoup the loss, it is very difficult to get back on track. You also talk about letting the bank repo the property. Well, that is the easy way out. Maybe you have done things in life using the easy way out but obviously this family didn't take that course of action. Maybe it is people like you, who would just throw up their hands and give up, that are causing the credit crunch and bankruptcy phenomenon in this country. In any event, it must be nice to be as fortunate as you are. Show some compassion for a family that lost everything, not through any actions of their own but to a natural disaaster.
- Mike, Manchester

Unbelievable, people really hate when other people have good fortune. It is a T.V show people, this is what they do. If life was like Patti, Rob, Tom says it should be we would be communist. If Ty and the team showed up at your door would you be complaining, I would have to guess no? As for Mr. Voisine and the family being in debt at some point you learn that Credit cards and material things is not what life is all about. Maybe this is their time and when they come back they will realize how lucky they are and will do great things for the community, Not to mention 4 kids that will see the greatness in everyday people and hopefully then turn around and do great things themselves. Please get off your soap box and be happy for someone else other that crying that it was not you that won. And by the way they have to submit something to ABC to even be eligible so they took the initiative to be involved in the show. They were not picked out of the blue. ABC knew who they were because of an application they or someone for them submitted.
- JL, Manchester

I hope they can afford the taxes after The Bang up job Manchester did jacking up taxes again this year. I've seen 4 increases in 5 years for my 5 year old home. Almost $2000 more since I bought. I wish them luck. Glad to see some good news coming out of Manchester.
- Adam Murphy, Manchester

I'm so happy for this family. i love the show and i'm happy they came to manchester!!! I love TY!
- Tamara, Manchester

I think ur all jealous that this isn't happening to you. that's why ur mad
- Tam, Manchester

It doesn't sound like they were looking for the government to bail them out. FEMA comes into disaster areas to try and help people out. All they did was apply for a loan through them which unfortunately was denied.
- Jason, Manchester

While it is a disgrace that FEMA turned down this family's emergency loan request to rebuild based solely on their credit rating. I find it is in very poor taste that anybody would choose to take this great news and joyous event for Voisine family to take a shot at the president of our country. The President had no part in the decision that was made when this family was turned down for the loan. I sincerely hope and pray that the Voisine family will enjoy their new home and build many loving memories there. Unless you've been in a similar sitiuation, you can't even begin to understand what it's like to lose your home and everything in it! For whatever it's worth coming from an anonymous viewer, thank you ABC Extreme Home Makeover!
- Rob, Manchester, NH

What is really too bad is when the government gets bashed because they are not the hand out system that some clamour for. What happened to neighbor's helping neighbor's? Instead we are suposed to rely in the government to always bail us out and shame on them if they do not do it.
It is a sad statement for sure. How about it's time that Americans helped each other and stopped expecting the government to always bail them out?
Good for this family and all the volunteers and it is that kind of thing we need more of.
- Bill B, Pelham

After watching the Extreme Makeover show for a couple of years, I always feel that the families who get these much-needed homes sometimes are overwhelmed by the size and the possible bills that may come along with them. I truly hope that the Voisine family appreciates and takes extra special care of their new home, because unfortunately, and I know this is a cynical point of view, they are going to have to pay higher taxes and take care of a much bigger place. On a brighter note, though, CONGRATULATIONS VOISINE FAMILY!!!
- Claudia, Manchester

I am so Happy for Them, I don't have a skill needed. but i will be thinking of all those wonderfull people volunteering and helping. oh and i second Patti from Manchester shame on are own government!
- Kyle B, Manchester

patti, once again you dems dont get it, its the private sector and individuals that make this country and its people great-not the government. expecting the gov't to bail you everytime life throws you a curve is not what made America great.
- jonathan, derry

I have known Casey and Rey and their families for many years. I am glad they are getting the help they need. With all the losses the state has sustained in the same floods, their losses must have been great to be chosen for this unbelievable gift! Congratulations, and I will certainly tune in to watch the miracle unfold on ABC!
- Tim Savoy, Manchester

I hope the Voisines don't have to sell the property to pay the higher property a new home will bring them. Maybe the Mayor can do something about that, insted of making comments on how very giving and loving they are
- Bob, Derry

This is so wonderful for this family!! Like winning the lottery, but so much more meaningful. If you watch this show, you can't help but feel sad for the challenges faced by these families, and thrilled that they are receiving this wonderful gift. The fact that EHMO involves volunteers from the community makes it even more meaningful. I've seen some of the cynical, mean spirited comments some folks have made about this, but I, for one, choose to see this as a joyous, wonderful, exciting, happy event. Congratulations, Voisine Family, and welcome home!!!!!
- Marlene, Lyme, NH

It is too bad that we have money for ,other countries and money for a war to be finaced , We pay taxes and irs but when it comes helping the middle working people trying to make it these days thieir is never help for us ,,good luck to this family ,,,looking forward to seeing my old town on the reveal show ,,
- pam, manchester . now living in florida

Right on Patti! We have lots of deserving, needy Americans that could use some assistance, and we're spending trillions on warfare, and paying other countries to rebuild and survive. How about looking at our own people first? We pay all these taxes that go to killing people and aid for every country but ours. Patti for President!
- Tom, Manchester

This is a nice, feel good story. However, I can't help but wonder how much the taxes are going to be on a brand new, 3,000 square ft. home with a 576-square foot detached garage.
I hope they can afford to live there.
- Bill, Bennington

As for the government bombing another country and than putting the time and money
back to rebuild it makes no sense. Especially when our own people are hurting.
Charity begins here @ home in America.
Our government doesn't put the time and money into our own people's problems.
- barbara philibotte, manchester,nh

Patti - You couldn't be more wrong. This is clearly a sad story, but it is not the role of government to rescue people out of every tough situation. Charity does need to start at home and that's exactly what's taking place in this case. It's just sad it takes a t.v. program to create such a reaction. Maybe if people didn't always look to government, we would see true charity more often.
- Dan,, Dover

OK, tough deal they got, I am sympathetic. BUT...the guy has four kids to support and he's a door to door book salesman? Get a real job, two jobs if need be. And if your credit is already lousy, let the bank repo the land and get out of that debt. Sounds like they've made some bad decisions along the way.
- Rob, Exeter

Patti, if you were really so concerned and happy for this family, maybe you would have taken 5 seconds off your soapbox, forgotten which political side you are on, and had some true concern and compassion for this family. I'm really happy that EMHE has finally come to NH. I think it's a great show that not only helps so many familys in great need, but really shows the American Spirit - giving of ourselves, working together, and doing what's right. Welcome home, Voisine family!
- Jason, Bedford

Very sad that our own government came up short. Yet our so called president can offer rebuilding to other countries when his own back yard is such a mess. Charity needs to begin at home. We have enough americans that need help, and our government has very much let them down.
