This is just another example of the people running this country not knowing how to do their job. They cannot even get the math straight. Reporting districts that do not exist and saying they got stimulus money. I wonder where the money really went. The Federal Government cannot run anything without there being billions in pork and waste. We who can balance our checkbooks can see that. The only ones that cannot are the ones who live and thrive on entitlement programs. These are the ones who want this bill to pass. They are another reason to vote our current leaders out of office. I am not against helping anyone but the entitlement mongers need to go. We need limits on this stuff. They need to go to school while they are on Welfare. They get 2 years. If they do not do something for themselves by then than too damn bad.

@Dan: The fact the you still trust Obama to make the right decisions is downright frightening in and of itself.
And to think this website only cost us $18M for the remake!!!

Mike M (Manchester),
Thanks for reading my post and taking the time to reply. Please re-read my post, I am not blaming Bush for the recession - that mess has plenty of blame that includes both the Clinton and Bush admonistrations.
What I tried to say was that I trust Obama's judgment and decision-making process more than I do Bush's. Though I am disappointed by Obama's delay in deciding what to do in Afghanistan, I prefer that he research, consult and reflect before taking action. In contrast, Bush seemed to act reflexively, without adequate reflection and foresight, and ended up creating big messes.

Here's another reason for doubt about the "stimulus":
The AARP has received over $18 million in "stimulus" funds. Zero jobs created.
Hmmmm. Now why would the AARP be receiving "stimulus" money? Hmmm...
- Tom, Campton
@ Paul - Actually Paul they did not figure it out themselves. A watchdog and other Americans caught these mistakes. and there are many of these. Just imagine what we don't know because it has not or cannot be checked. How much of this money will be given for campaigning? How much more do we spend before the country cannot recover. These morons cannot handle the cash for clunkers program and that is small scale, they spent all this money for this program and look how well it is. It is smoke and mirrors to me. They say they will be open and honest, but we have yet to see that. At the rate this country is heading we are in for a bleak future. 2010 cannot come soon enough!!
- Stacey, Manchester
Yet another example of the administration's inability to get the facts and report them accurately. Say has anyone checked out Whitehouse.gov? It reports that the USA national debt--excluding the yet un-passed health care—will double in 10 years from $12 trillion plus in 2009 to $18,658 trillion in 2014 to $24,505 trillion. The proposed Obama care will start taxng all of us people for the care immediately. Yet the health care won't go into effect for those eligible for five years 2014? Now that is a deal. Taxation--before receipt of service that the majority of us don't want what is being proposed. So the errors with the stimulus package didn't surprise me. If you want a good laugh or cry take a little time and effort and learn the true number of jobs the stimulus package really created for NH and other states. The White house put out bogus numbers, i.e., bogus as in beyond human error--as in lying. I had some real issues with the last administration —but this one has gone beyond being irresponsible to criminal. If I did this kind of work at my job--I be charged with fraud and fired.

FACT - over the past 7 months I've been through NE down to the Carolinas. Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan. I've seen a few road projects with the "TARP" sign. But at no time have I seen or heard of any schools being built.
FACT - Municipalities have been balancing their budgets with TARP funds. No only was the money not intended to do that. What about next year, I don't see much in the way of tax revenue coming into cities and towns.
Another Bailout????
- Harry, Atkinson
The Admin has already reduced the jobs created or saved by 60k because or bad reporting. Washington papers put it over 80k. Take your heads out of the sand. Even the Boston Globe reported it on the front page, if they are writing about it, imagine how bad it really is. One company gave everyone a big raise with the money and called it jobs saved. Saying the employees would have quit without a raise. Does not mean the jobs went away, someone would have filled those positions.
- BuzzinNH, Down south
So, they already figured out and reported on where the errors are - but UL still wants to stir the pot and get people to complain. Roll out the mission accomplished banner.
- Paul R., Kingston
We're at 17.5% real unemployment. It's not trivial to want to know exactly how well the stimulus does or doesn't work.
Of course, if you don't care that huge volumes of taxpayer dollars are wasted by massively ineffective and inefficient programs and with no legitimate controls or metrics in place, then I suppose bogus and fabricated results would seem trivial.
- Rich, Portsmouth
Hey Dan/Auburn, Greg F, Matt/Manchester
Comrades, they reported giving stimulus money to the 6th District in NH,not a peep from Hodes or Shea-Peolosi, They reported hours as people, not people, They were sent corrections, they didn't post it. We are the highest unemployment in over 20 years and the stimulus was to resolve unemployment ( the emperor's own words!) when it was in the 8% range. they are claiming success and they haven't released all the funds but they want a 2nd package. How many jobs do you they created when they distributed 100K to study ancient pollen? Come on comrades, just admit it, we are out of control and for comrades like you to keep blaming Bush it is getting real old. I would suggest you ask your emperor that if he had a war strategy in 3/29 why hasn't anything been done almost 8 months later or better yet why is it when a decision is made to try terrorists as civilians ( costing you over 100M for security) he is out of the country, or why is it that his wife and Oprah can take a private 747 to Denmark?
- Mike, Manchester
To attempt to attribute these mistakes as simply human error speak volumes as to the supervision, leadership, competence and now questionable ethics of the Obama Administration. Mr. Obama was just elected into office and was grateful for the votes received from New Hampshire’s 2 districts and they didn’t notice an extra 4 districts in their stimulus calculations? And they want us to trust them to handle our healthcare? I don’t think so!
- Rob, Manchester
Has the Obama Administration yet released the number of jobs Saved or Created in the congressional districts of Oz, Shangri-La, Nardia or Atlantis? Just wondering how those efforts are going.
- rh, Manchester
Errors happen, especially in accounting and tabulation where data entry and other clerical mistakes propagate. I hope the error is trivial and that the correct accounting numbers are published.
In the big picture, I would rather have an accounting error that is easily fixed than an error in judgment, for example, that leads to a protracted war fought for bogus reasons.
- Dan, Auburn
If this is going to become a shouting atch over things said with erroneous tongue... I believe Obama's intended to say 47 with 1 state left to go (in the continental US). Regardless, ALL of us, have slipped up statements... no one is immune....
For instance... do you recall that Bush said the following at a bill-signing ceremony on August 5, 2004... "Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." Or, the more infamous... "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?" Hmmm.
- Greg F., Manchester, NH
Matt, the Obama administration signed up for this job! They (and you) need to quit complaining about how we got here and look forward to find solutions -- that's what he was elected to do. Falsely reporting economic "statistics" in HOPE of looking successful is helping nothing. Reports on jobs saved and created are nothing but political cheer as these numbers are never accurate or trackable. We should leave learning from history until after we have legitimately recovered.
- Rebecca, Candia
This is trivial and being corrected. Should we begin to list ALL of the errors the previous administration and republican congressional leaders have made in recent years as well that prompted this recovery act??? No? I didn't think so...
- Matt, Manchester
The reps from the 1st and 2nd Congressional districts as well as the fictitious 00, 4th and 6th Congressional Districts all have one thing in common in regards to the AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009. None of them read the bill.
- Chris, Merrimack
Considering Obama said there are 57 states in the union, you can't be too suprised his administration thinks there are 27 congressional districts in NH. Good thing Biden's in charge of the stimulus -- I'm sure he'll straighten out the confusion in no time. Can't wait 'til these people run our health care, too. But look on the bright side: when KSM is acquitted in civilian court because he wasn't given his Miranda rights, he can be released in the 00th district.
- Rich, Portsmouth
NEWSFLASH! Democrats lie to advance agenda! Read all about it. Here is standing headline; Kool-Aid drinkers (James in Manchester) defend administration! Hey James, there were jobs created in the 99th district of Puerto Rico what kind of excuse can you make up for that? Or the money spent in the 00 district?
- Allan, Rochester
Yet another example of the fact that government can't do anything right, no matter what administration is in office.
- CDR, Lebanon
Lots of you are quick to hang this incompetence on the Democrats, but it's emblematic of the general level of incompoetence throughout all Goverment. And yet some of you want to trust these boobs to run the Health Care system in this country?
- DP, Manchester
- Bob, Francestown
We need %100 unemployment in the public sector. It's gotten to the where all they do is prey on the public's purse to enrich themselves. This is happening at all levels, Federal, state and local. Public servants have become the masters and taxpayers, the slaves!
- Steve, Raymond
Doubts?
This is outright fraud, another example of the utter dishonesty and incompetence of this administration.
Trying to create "saved" jobs was a farce from the beginning, and this debacle proves it.
- Tom, Campton
Nothing is an Honest mistake when it comes to money. As Judge Judy would say: If its looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck then it is a duck. Follow the money trail and see where it leads. Hopefully with this administration out of office come next election.
- Margaret Weadick, Pittsfield,NH
There are certainly not 6 congressional districts; however, I think however that the data might have been mislabeled as a lot of stimulus money went to road construction. There are 6 districts determined by the State of NH's Department of Transportation. Hopefully just an honest mistake.
- James, Manchester
This administration has had failure after failure after failure and demonstrates its incompetence just about every day. They couldn't run the cash for clunkers program - a simple rebate program that vehicle manufacturers successfully run all the time. They can't keep track of the money dolled out to the banks. They can't keep track of the stimulus dollars. Obama and his inept staff can't even get international protocol right. Can't wait until 2012 when we send this bozo and his friends back to the streets of Chicago.
- Brian, Farmington
It's not just this administration, it's the entire Federal government. Both parties, several presidents prior to this Chicago thug and all of his henchmen.
And we still have people out here who think the Federal government can efficiently and effectively run an entire health care system!
This article is documentation of yet another example of the Chicago style thug operation. It's not working too well because people are now awake and looking.
- Melvin, Keene
If these same clowns run the medical system how many vasectomies for woman, and c-sections for men will be performed and paid for??.
I don’t want these politicians and government hacks running anything but a push broom to clean out their offices when we kick their butts out on the street.
It’s time that 10% unemployment hits the public sector... pols, bureaucrats, career goverment employees… slash 10% for starters and warn the rest…
This may not be the CHANGE you expected… but it sure is the CHANGE your votes got….
- Bob, Francestown
We're giving billions of dollars to people who can't even figure out which Congressional district they're in? Terrific. What an utter failure this administration has been. It would be funny if it weren't so pathetic.
