Just found out about this today. After he left Charlotte, he kept in contact with us. Kristy and Hailey were Nate's life. Great friend that set goals and actually acheived them. He will be missed.

- cheryl, manchester
I didn't know him well or personally, but he was a kind and high spirited man. He use to come through dunkins all the time. He would joke with all of us. And for those there who just found this terrible news out were and are very sad. All of us at Dunkins will miss him very much including myself. And I hope his wife and daughter can be strong through this tragic time. We're all sorry for your loss. He was an incredible person.
- Danielle Jordan, Epsom, NH
I just met officer Taylor last weekend while he was doing his rounds. I work part-time as a janitor, and he was just checking on us to make sure everything was ok. Even though I only met him that one time, he was a SUPER nice guy. My thoughts go out to his family. If you want encouragement, please read this in your Bible: Rev. 21:4. It will change soon.
- Bob, Bow
I feel awful. My thoughts go to the family as well as the bow police department. My thought are also with the Epsom police department. They have dealt with a lot of tragedy over the last decade. I don't know them all anymore but I am sure they are all good men like Wayne the chief is
- Philip Maclaren, Epsom
Very sad. Nathan, you and your family are in my prayers.
- Steve Moltisanti, Bow, NH
I didn't know him well or personally, but he was a really great person. Always in high spirits. He use to stop in at the dunkins I work at all the time and joke around with us all. Everyone there who heard about the news and knew him were and are very upset by it including myself. We all will miss him so very much. And I hope his wife and daughter can stay strong through this very difficult time. I'm sorry for your loss. We all are.
- Danielle Jordan, Epsom, NH
I fail to see how anyone is led to believe the officer was killed while on duty. Unless, of course, one makes unfounded assumptions. When you live your life making a lot of assumptions, you make a lot of mistakes and bad judgments. Assume nothing - you'll be much better off and make less of a fool of yourself.
- Brian, Farmington
There's another article about the little girl of a State Rep who was injured. Why was her mother's position mentioned in the headline? Could it be that it makes it interesting? So you thought the officer was injured in the line of duty. So what? You read the article and got set straight. Is this really a problem?
And the president only controls flags at federal offices, the governor for state offices. Towns can decide on their own when to raise and lower. Same with private homeowners.
My prayers for strength and comfort are out for the family and friends of officer Taylor. It's a very sad thing, no matter what your job is.
- Marc, Derry
Just last week he was telling me how much he loved his family (while making a call to my street in Bow). RIP Nathan.
- John, Bow
I agree with Jay-Derry. I feel for his family and young daughter, but Jay was just making a point. You see the headline and think he was on duty.
- Roger, Candia
Our town will miss you Nathan Taylor. Thank you for taking care of us for the last year and a half. We will keep your wife and daughter in our prayers.
- Nancy and David West, Bow, NH
There is no good time to bring this up since it is always associated with death, but it is not an appropriate to lower the flag to half staff.
The President and the Governor are the only ones allowed to authorize that, along with 5 days, which Congress has previously authorized.
My condolences to the family.
- John, Nashua
Nice comments Jay. Seems you were brought up to be insenstitive. This Country is being riddled by the likes of people just like you. I hope when you lose a close family member, someone manages to communicate an insensitive comment, and directly insults that family member in front of you. FYI....the fact that he was a police officer makes it a "headline" in the same sense if it were a teacher, firefighter, politician, celebrity or athlete. Do you have any common sense?
- John, Manchester
- Jay, Derry
You may not understand but let’s try to explain it for you…
When someone dedicates their life to service usually in honor of that you lower the flags. I could have been a natural death and still you would lower the flags.
Still following?
Next… Being a Police Officer requires more of someone than being a business executive or salesman. It’s such a big part of someone’s life that people sometimes only know them as a police officer. “Hey you know my friend... the police officer?” How many times do you hear that versus “Hey you know my friend, the salesman?” If you don’t know what I mean by that then go find out what police officers really do.
Please accept my condolences to the family.
- Chris, Manchester
In response to Jay from Derry...
He gets the mention because to be a police officer is to put your life on the line. That doesn't happen when you are a salesman or a plumber, now does it? If he were a fireman, he would also get the same mention as well.
- Jim D, Hillsboro
After working with Nate while on the fire department here in Bow, he was always professional, and was always a friend.
I stopped to talk with him on Friday, and he said to keep in touch. I wish I could- he will be missed.
- Jason Greene, Bow, N.H.
Such a terrible tragedy. Our Sincere Sympathy to his wife, daughter and family. You are in our prayers.
- The Cassavaugh Family, Epsom
This is such a sad tragedy. Prayers for family and friends. will say a prayer at dinner table for your family.
I agree with BillyBob to Jay to shutup!! This is a sad time fr this family and friends so get over yourself.
- Deb, Mont Vernon
My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Officer Nathan Taylor. I went to UNH and graduated with Officer Taylor's wife Kristy and cannot imagine the heartache she must be feeling. I hope that Kristy, her daughter, and their family will find the strength to heal in their time of sorrow, and know that we are all thinking of them.
- Christine Morris, Barrington, NH
Jay from Derry- 2 words- shut up!
- BillyBob, Hooksett
It is truly a sad day when such a fine young man loses his life in such a tragic accident. Nate will be remembered for his professionalism, his smile, and his general goodness. RIP in my young friend. I wish his family and the Bow Police Department the best in dealing with their tragic loss.
- Dale, Chichester
Ya know Jay from Derry, there is alwys someone who has something completely stupid and insensative to say in these posts and today, you are the absolute winner of that award. Congratulations!
- Jeff, Manchester
A dear friend and valued colleague. My families thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
- Mitchell Harrington, Pembroke
Sad story, but why do they have to mention that he is an Officer? The headline jumps out at you like he died in the line of duty. If he was a plumber, salesman or business exec... would they say what he did? Also saw that it was lead story on WMUR and the town has lowered the flags. Isn't that reserved for military and line of duty deaths?
- Jay, Derry
Kristy & Family,
We are at a loss as what to say of this recent tragedy. Please accept our condolences to you and your family.
- Sue & Bill Lang, Epsom, NH
Thoughts and prayers to family and friends.
- Stephen, Sullivan

Thank you for being a wonderful friend to us all.
