Conway residents held in shooting

Conway – Police arrested three people yesterday morning after a Maine man was shot during the night and discovered by a passing state trooper on an East Main Street lawn.
Benjamin Blasi, 21, of Brownfield, Maine, was in critical condition yesterday, according to Maine Medical Center. Police say he was shot in the abdomen during a dispute and discovered by a trooper who called police around 1:30 a.m.
Police said the shooter, 25-year-old Matthew Lewis, turned himself in to police later that morning.
Two others were arrested at their homes, Rachael West, 25, and Mathew French, 21. Lewis has been charged with second-degree assault. West is charged with criminal liability for the conduct of another and French with reckless conduct with a firearm.
All three are from Conway and are scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow.
Police are not saying what led to the shooting, except to say it occurred during a physical altercation.
