Cpl. Scott G. Dimond, Franklin

Cpl. Scott G. Dimond, 39, a New Hampshire Army National Guardsman and a former Franklin police officer, died Oct. 13 of wounds from a roadside bomb when his patrol was attacked in Kandahar, Afghanistan.
At the time of his death he served with the Tactical Training Team, assisting the Afghan National Army and Police Force.
A lifelong resident of Franklin and a 1987 graduate of Franklin High School, he began his law enforcement career in 1988 with the Franklin Police Department, retiring as a sergeant after 18 years of service. He enlisted in the New Hampshire National Guard in 2006 while he worked on his R.N. degree.
Cpl. Dimond was a member of the Military Forces Honor Guard, traveling state wide to honor those who served. He was a member of the Central Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
