BRENTWOOD – A Danville man who has admitted to police he has a sexual addiction to athletic-looking boys has recently been arrested again for stalking.
Robert Slye, 28, was arrested by Danville police three weeks ago for allegedly having two confrontations with a man in Hampstead and Danville, court documents say.
It's the third time this year that Slye has been charged in a case related to stalking men, according to court records.
In 2007, he was also convicted in Plaistow District Court of stalking a Danville man, from whom he solicited photos while posing as a young woman on Facebook.
Slye's latest arrest has triggered an emergency hearing before a Superior Court judge next week to revoke bail, which would keep him behind bars until he goes to trial in January.
Slye is facing trial for allegedly stalking a Danville man in June and July 2008, the same man he was convicted of stalking in 2007, according to indictments.
A judge is expected to consider the request in Rockingham County Superior Court on Tuesday.
In his latest case, Slye is accused of cutting off Thomas Cotter while he was driving on Route 111 in Hampstead on Sept. 18.
A short time later, Slye and Cotter pulled into a nearby gas station where Slye made a rude gesture to Cotter and called him a sexually derogatory name, wrote Assistant County Attorney Geoffrey Ward.
Cotter then spotted Slye driving by his home several times and honking his horn, Ward wrote.
Slye continued to drive by and honk in the days that followed, according to police.
On Oct. 2, Cotter and Slye were found in a heated confrontation at the Danville police station, Ward wrote.
Danville police charged Slye with felony stalking and misdemeanor harassment related to the confrontations with Cotter.
Slye was already out on bail for two other incidents.
He was arrested in March for stalking in young man in his town between June and July 2007. He was also charged by Portsmouth police weeks later for stealing a backpack belonging to a 15-year-old boy at Water Country.
Police said Slye was allegedly holding the backpack for ransom so he could get semi-naked pictures of the youth. Slye was allegedly posing as a young woman when he began sending text messages to the backpack owner, saying he needed to send explicit photographs if he wanted to see his backpack again.
As part of his bail conditions, Slye was barred from having contact with youths age 18 and under. He was banned from visiting schools, parks, arcades and malls.

While we're talking about expanding death penalty legislation for the Mont Vernon case, let's expand it to include people like this. He obviously cannot reform himself.
