Four people have been charged in connection with a Circle K robbery in June, including the clerk who was supposedly victimized, in what police are calling an inside job.

About $4,000 was stolen from the convenience store at the Irving gas station on Knox Marsh Road the morning of June 7.

The assistant manager on duty during the robbery, Jovanna Folger, is accused of conspiring with three men to pull off the robbery, according to police.

The $4,000 was delivered the day prior, and Folger, 30, of 46 Old Madbury Lane, was supposed to put the cash in the ATM there, but she did not, according to an arrest affidavit Instead, Folger stashed the money inside a filing cabinet in the store's back room, the affidavit said.

When the store was robbed, the man doing so made her escort him into the room and stole all the money. No gun was shown, nor force used.

Moses Speller, 28, of 913 Lilac Lane; Michael Francis, 22, who was already incarcerated at the Valley Street Jail; and Ryan Call, 23, who was already incarcerated at the Strafford County jail, were all charged with conspiracy to commit robbery last week, as was Folger.

Police said Folger cooked up the robbery scheme with Speller, who was then her neighbor, because she was short on cash and close to being evicted.

Shortly after the robbery, police confronted two men in a car leaving the New Meadows apartment complex across the street from the Circle K, the affidavit said. When they were asked for IDs, the car sped off, leading to a brief high-speed chase that ended after the car went airborne over a nearby sidewalk.

Both men fled on foot and police chased each down, later identifying them as Call and Francis, the affidavit said. After he was booked, Call phoned Speller, leading police to him.

Further investigation and statements from at least two witnesses connected Speller and Folger to the crime, police said.

Searches of the vehicle Call and Francis were in, as well as Speller's apartment, netted the stolen cash and clothing used during the robbery.

Speller was arrested Thursday and Folger on Friday, while Call and Francis were already jailed. Call's and Francis' bail was set at $250,000 cash, while Speller's was set at $100,000 cash and Folger's at $50,000 cash, to convert to personal recognizance.

I love that two out of the three (excluding the clerk) were already in the can. It would be interesting to see what they were already jailed for.
