Keene – Police are seeking public help to find a man wanted for allegedly robbing two people at gunpoint last week.
Weston Wilbur, 31, is described as a white male, about 160 pounds, 5-foot-4, with tattoos.
On Wednesday at about 11:30 p.m., Wilbur was at a party in Swanzey when he asked two people for a ride to Keene, said Keene Police Sgt. Darryl Madden. A man and a woman, whose names aren’t being released for safety reasons, both 19, agreed to drive him.
What happened next is unclear, Madden said, but at about 2 a.m., Wilbur had the male driver pull into a parking lot near Mechanic Street in Keene. He left the car and went into a building for about 20 minutes.
When he came back to the car, he pulled out what is being described as a Glock handgun from beneath a towel. He allegedly pointed it at the driver and told him to hand over his money. The man and the woman did as they were told, handing over about $200. Wilbur allegedly threatened to kill the two if they reported the incident to police, Madden said.
The two eventually reported the robbery on Nov. 6, Madden said, being too frightened to do so before then.
Since the report, Madden said police have been in contact with Wilbur’s relatives and Wilbur himself.
“He called us,” Madden said. “He knows he’s wanted. He agreed to turn himself in, but the time he was supposed to turn himself in has passed.”

So police issued a notice that he was wanted.
“He could be anywhere at this point,” Madden said.
Wilbur is originally from Keene, but has “bounced around,” Madden said.
Police are advising the public not to approach Wilbur since he is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is being encouraged to call Keene police at 357-9813.
