The dadians were pretty good friends of my brother. they are both good people. the accident that has happened is tragic. i hope pete and andy and their family get through this. and for the lpd... i would have figured their family has already been through enough before you brought in a bomb squad.
- Kelly, Londonderry, nh

Range rule: Always treat a firearm as if it were loaded. Also never point your firearm at something you don't want to shoot. Every person who purchases a firearm for the first time, should take a safety course. It could save your or another's life.
- Dave, Manchester

Question is was this an accident?? Why wave around a loaded gun? What was going on while he was handling the gun?? Was there an argument going on? Drugs in the house? Why was the gun loaded? It is still under investigation by the LPD. Lots of unaswered questions here and I have lived in Londonderry for many years and yes there is trouble here as in any town or state.
- JJinNH, Londonderry, NH

Dick Cheney shot a man in the face with a shotgun... no charges filed.... So where does this discussion end?
- Tom, Londonderry

Let's not forgot Concord NH Officer shot fellow officer in training "accident" no charges filed after exhaustive AG investigation. Can some one explain the difference if this has been ruled an accidental shooting why the charges?
- Stuart, Nashua, Nh

I apologize for the name calling---referring to the shooter as a punk was inappropriate. This morning's early edition did not list this as accidental. The horror of a gun going off, the bomb squad being here, and my quiet little neighborhood closed off last night got the better of me. As in my original post, my hope is that the victim recovers as this could have been much worse. Peace, everyone.
- Kevin, Londonderry

With all due respect Kyle, stats and facts without sources are not worth the paper they're printed on.

As for this whole incident . . . truly tragic. I haven't seen Peter in years, but if he is in the hospital long, a visit may be in order.
- Derek Munro, Londonderry

If it was truly an accident and the brother forgives him, I hope this man is released. While his negligence is inexcusable, I don't' believe he should be criminally charged unless the victim desires it. If my brother accidentally hurt me and he was put in jail for it, I'd feel as if I was being re-victimized by the state and wish I could just get on with life.

Kevin, if you don't like guns, you chose the wrong state to live in.
- CDR, Lebanon

Kevin,
I clicked the link that the UL provided and did not see the "upper-class" neighborhood sign posted anywhere.

More and more people exercise their 2nd Amendment rights every day. Yet, there are fewer and fewer gun accidents. You may not be exposed to this if you moved here from...say...Newton, Massachusetts or San Francisco, California.
You refer to Mr. Dadian as a "little punk". You do realize that he's an adult, don't you? He's now being held as an adult in jail.
This case appears to be both tragic and accidental.
- Jim Powers, Bedford

Kevin, you have proven your ignorance through ridiculous statements. So because, IN THE CONFINES OF THEIR OWN HOUSE, they were using a rifle, your child is unsafe? You are a clown; as if people are just going to start misfiring weapons everywhere and shoot your kids somehow, do you see how ridiculous that sounds? You call them punks for using a rifle? They are two close friends of mine from high school, and I can guarantee you that they are some of the most polite and respectful dudes I've ever met, and I would hardly call their hobbies "playing" as they take things very seriously and this is obviously a mistake; I mean, my father, who lives in just as nice, if not nicer an area than you, literally just shot out our kitchen window while showing his Marine friend an empty handgun, not realizing his friend reloaded the clip; is my father a little punk? Is his friend from the Marines a little punk(cause I'd like to hear you say that to them). You think this accident deserves jail? I think you deserve prison for not meeting the MINIMUM requirements of someone with a brain; by the way, writing BABY CARRIAGES in capitals does not make the situation you described more feasible, but makes you look ridiculous.
As for other comments, Derek, good to hear you tell this guy he's an idiot but Londonderry is definitely upper-class; we used to have the best school system, and the INCOME of our town DEFINES Londonderry as upper class; this isn't something one can argue, it's a statement of facts and statistics about income, housing and growth, not opinion.
- Kyle Douglas, Londonderry, NH

Im sorry for the families tragedy. I just hope they can someday make peace and get past it. Improbable I know. But my heart goes out to the family.
- T.S., dover

This would explain all the sirens I heard by my house last night... hope they both turn out alright.
- Adam, Windham

Come on, it was an ACCIDENT. I'm sure he feels bad enough having shot his twin. Don't clog up the jails with this kid. A slap in the wrist fine, MAYBE some community service.
- Jim, Manchester

growing up the Dadian twins were two of my best friends. They were inseparable.

Kevin, you shouldn't talk about things you do not know and which do not involve you.

I can't imagine how badly Andy feels right now. How would you feel if you accidentally shot your best friend in the neck?

Mistakes happen, even if they are outrageously stupid mistakes that could have been avoided.

Also, I would hardly call that an upper-class neighborhood. Londonderry is middle-class at best, all you residents need to stop looking down your nose at everyone . . . the arrogance in this town is astounding.
- Derek Munro, Londonderry

Kevin, I don't know how long you've lived in NH, but it would be my guess that there are many more hunting rifles and recreational guns in your neighborhood than you think. I used to live right down the road and would actively, safely, shoot regularly in that area. It's not the guns, it's the unacceptable behavior by these "men".
- David, Merrimack

Kevin, I don't know a single person (and I live in Londondery) that does not own a gun, you can buy them right in town. Owning a gun is sort of like being a parent, some people shouldn't be gun owners and some folks shouldn't be parents...we see it everyday. You sound like a concerned parent and that's good. However your statement of upper class? You have an extreme misconception of Londonderry. Nice neighborhood maybe, upper class? doubtful. Take a peak up Mammoth RD at the hand painted billboards and you have to wonder if this town has any class..it's embarrassing. Have a safe Thanksgiving.
- Sydney, Londonderry

Kevin, Stupidity knows no class boundries.

"an irresponsible 22 year old who should know better in an upper class residential neighborhood where my two year old daughter plays every single day"

Londonderry is not as safe and special as the residents like to see it through their Rose colored glasses.

It can happen ANYWHERE!!!!
- Lisa, Manchester

Just a question Kevin. What does it being in a n UPPER CLASS neighborhood have to do with whether they should have known better?
- Anna, Manchester

Looks like "causing mischief" just took a turn for the worse
- Harry, Atkinson

Wonderful. A 22 caliber rifle in the hands of an irresponsible 22 year old who should know better in an upper class residential neighborhood where my two year old daughter plays every single day. We take daily walks right by that house; kids on bikes and rollerblades and in BABY CARRIAGES are seen DAILY in that neighborhood and this little punk is playing with a loaded RIFLE? First and foremost I hope his twin fully recovers. Secondly, I hope the brother who shot him serves plenty of time in jail. Third, I hope those parents get rid of the guns in their house. Clearly this could have been a lot worse!
