It's all too simple mathematics. Create or Save jobs means that they have accomplished nothing. Apparently, that's their goal.

Bob, Bedford. I copied your post so I could remind you of it in six months.

"But the employment situation in New Hampshire and throughout the country has continued to deteriorate since March."
-But we still need to spend taxpayer money on building 'Workforce Housing' by order of the government. This is all a scam. Wake up Democrats and Republicans! Wake up Liberals and Conservatives! We are being taken for a ride! And the car we are in is a hearse!
- David Parent, manchester

Come on Bob, get with the program here. The liberal press has gotten the bit in its teeth and are distorting all the figures reported - even by the Department of Labor. One day there is no housing bubble, the next day our economy is doing fine, the next day the Dems have us teetering on the brink of depression. There are no facts just spin waiting for a conservative political washing machine.
- Bob (no relative), Deerfield

The odd thing about this story is everyone we know seems to have one partner laid off at the moment, including my spouse. I guess it just depends on a bit of luck.

I just don't see how things will pick up though considering the amount of taxation and spending taking place these days. No one is encouraging growth it seems. The politicians seem more concerned with keeping their good old boy network intact more than anything else. I’m no financial genius but it seems to me if you want growth, you don’t tax everything under the sun while claiming businesses are evil and starting a class warfare campaign. You give incentives to business based on job creation and the money the new employees spend creates not only tax revenue but flows through the economy.
- Deb, Derry

Let's all say it together:

"The stimulus package will CREATE or SAVE jobs".

Don't you just love it - no matter what happens, the Democrats are covered. If the number of jobs lost continues to increase, they say "but it would have been worse WITHOUT the Stimulus Package". If the number of jobs starts to increase, then it's "the Stimulus Package is Working!".

Where in the Heck is MY Stimulus Package!
- Mike, Derry NH

Hooksett Steve:
I detect a little cheekiness on Bob's part. Perhaps he's implying that giving Lynch credit is tantamount to blaming Obama for the national recession. Ridiculous.
- Brian, Manchester

Steve in Hooksett,

All we have heard from Republicans over the last two years is how Democrats are ruining the state economy and putting new burdens on business that will result in significant gob loss.

So either the legislation enacted by Democrats over the last couple years hasn't had the devastating effect on business that Republicans claimed it would, or job loss simply isn't affected by legislation, contrary to Republican claims that it would be.
- Dan, Manchester

If the demise of the country is Obama's fault then I guess the perseverance of NH is Lynch's achievement.
- Chip, Wilton

Steve B,
It's the economy stupid.
- Don, Manchester

Bob in Bedford,
So explain to me how losing my job is up to who is running our state?
The pink slip comes from our state government?
- Steve B., Hooksett

The numbers will certainly go up when 1000 state employees are laid off.
- Lisa, Concord

Yes Bob, I could not agree more. Good work by the Dems of our state!
- Jake, Manchester

"MANCHESTER – At the end of the first quarter, New Hampshire was faring better than other New England states in terms of job losses, according to the U.S. Department of Labor."

How is this possible? This state is completely controlled by Democrats? Is that statement a misprint? I thought NH was turning into Massachusetts North! Oh well, I guess the Republicans were wrong...again.
- Bob, Bedford
