I agree this case isn’t about parenting skills or being a good mom. Her children are already suffering from her criminal convictions. That’s too bad for them and the rest of her immediate family. The judge has already accepted the guilty plea and this case is over. Sentencing is going to be 3 to 6 years. Even with leniency on sentencing for THIS case, she pleaded guilty on 4 of the 6 felony charges. With the possibility of more charges pending, additional time in jail is most likely going to be the result. Sadly, this incident wasn’t a mistake it was a deliberate action.

i hope most of you folks stick to the actual case instead of many assumptions she is a bad mom. for all you know she could be a great mother that just has problems. to slander a woman on her parential skills is out of the question. its like saying mabel. you are a bad mother for making a mistake in your life. fair? no so please stick to the case and let the judge make the ruling instead of you making your own premature assumptions.

Horrible situation for any family to have to deal with and for that I feel sorry for all of them, especially all her children. Less enabling with real friends and family around her could have stopped this from ever happening. The people who tried to intervene early on were dismissed and attacked viciously. It should be clear to everyone she is clever, cunning, a convincing story teller who made people who were challenging her deceptions out to be the evil ones. The truth is now in the newspapers. Her lies have caught up to her, she is criminal, she had opportunity to make things right she chose the path of no return. Her first action ever of taking any responsibility for her actions was pleading guilty. Once all proceedings are done, it sounds to me she may get to see all her children after they graduate high school. This woman has no remorse for anything she has ever done and believes she was entitled to what she was asking for. Like a magician with slight of hand showing her evidence to people around her to gain support. When she gets caught she is a victim.

I hope she gets the help she needs finally.

There's shreds of truth in her lies. There's motivation that would horrify any parent. Excessive jail time is not going to solve her problems or pay people back, rather make problems worse and add to prison overcrowding. She needs the help of professionals. Can we please leave the actual judging to the judge? Thank you.

Jessica, King of Prussia...
The child shouldn't be on the web reading stories about the crimes her mother committed unless she was able to deal with everything being said. What this woman did in attempts to swindle millions of dollars in downright disgusting. But as readers below stated, she'll get no more than 2-3 years with the majority likely suspended.

hey leave the child alone! they can't help the fact that their mom has chosen to make these decisions in her life. you can't judge her children with just a mother bad actions. maybe some words of encouragement to her children....ever think of what they are/have gone through in their lives....NO, your to busy making nasty comments. grow up and show these kids that there are good,l loving and supportive people to look up to in their lives and strive to be better!

Anyone who has experienced identity theft can attest to how difficult it is clear your name .... for years afterward. I would like to see this woman and all other identity thieves serve longer sentences.

good people do not lie, deceive, and steal thousands of dollars from elderly men! she's clearly instilled her amazing values in you if you think she is a 'good person'. Let me guess, she was 20 or younger when she had you...
- Kaitlin, Manchester, NH
LOCK HER UP! I like the 50-60 year term. That will teach her a lesson because it looks like she needs to understand it is wrong.

I read this article and I am dumb struck! What on earth was this 70 year old guy thinking, that he hands over 10k just like that? she must have been quite "persuasive"!
- Jeff O'Hora, Manchester
Hey take it easy she's my mom. I know that she did these horrible things, but deep down she's a good person
- Unknown, NH
Yet another quality American woman for you. Mark my words, she will get no more than 2 years (with most of it suspended).
- Kevin, Portsmouth, NH
3-6 years isn't enough. I'd say 50-60 years would do just fine. Add another 50-60 for the theft and I'd say she'll never do either crime again. Rehabilitated, get it ?
- Mike Duggins, Londonderry
I don't get it? What makes people wake up in the morning and say "I'm going to rob an elder!", "I'm going to murder a neighbor!", "I'm going to embezzle a million dollars!"
One has to really wonder what is going on in this country!
- mike, epping
Where do people like this come up with these ideas? Secondly, why would she think she could get away with it? It seems to me if she had spent more time working and raising her family she wouldn't have time for such craziness. I don't understand why some people feel they deserve something they have not earned. I also hope that the gentleman is able to get some of his money back. So sad when folks are as caring as he was that they would be taken advantage of.
- Mabel, Exeter
Always smart to target a lawyer - they never catch on ! At least they'll get her off the streets for a few years. I feel bad for the poor man who fell for this - I hope he can recoup his losses, perhaps his homeowners insurance has a clause in it.
