Police: Boarder assaulted, stole from elderly landlord

Police said an elderly woman was assaulted by her boarder who also charged $6,000 on accounts he opened in her name.

This is wrong at any age but 73 years old and still behaving this way? I don't like to say it, but it would appear to be obvious that this critter cannot be 'rehabilitated'.

Well, the fact that when people think laws should be changed they post here and do nothing more about it may be part of the problem. I'm not criticising you - I'm guilty of the same - but if you want change, you need to plant the seeds yourself, not just complain and hope someone else does the work.

Aside from that, IMO there is a difference between grabbing someone by the throat and choking them. I'm leaning towards believing the victim was not choked in this instance since she opted to not report the assault when it occurred. I believe a misdemeanor is the right level of charge if no physical harm was done.
