A "thanksgiving" for the life Suzanne C. Flaherty Vernet filled the halls of St. Paul's Episcopal Church beyond capacity this morning as friends, family and members of the Londonderry community bid farewell to a woman described by many as "filled with joy."

Vernet, 46, died last week from injuries sustained in what police believe was a domestic dispute between her and her husband Binh Vernet.

Binh Vernet was found dead in Rehoboth, Mass., a day later after committing suicide.

Mourners spoke of Suzanne's devotion to her family and her support of all the various community events her four children, Alyssa, Ashley, Alexandra and Beau, participated in in and around Londonderry.

Flanked by her siblings, high school junior Alyssa Vernet spoke of the special relationship she had with her mother, her sense of humor and her unique way of looking at life.

"I will always remember the little things she'd do, like watching 'Twilight' with us and worrying more about Bambi, the deer killed in the beginning of the movie, than about (main character) Edward Cullen, or how she'd watch 'Titanic' and sing show tunes from 'Carousel' instead of being sad about the story," Alyssa said.

Alyssa said she will miss her mother and the constant support, but she was happy to know she was safe and no longer in pain.

"She was a great mom, daughter, sister, aunt, goddaughter and friend to so many," Alyssa said.

Following the ceremony, Suzanne Vernet, a native of Lexington, Mass., was laid to rest in Wildwood Cemetery in Winchester, Mass.

Suzanne and Binh Vernet's deaths are considered a murder-suicide by police and are still under investigation by the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office.
