HOOKSETT – Police on Tuesday night arrested a second person in connection with a string of burglaries on Whitehall Terrace.
Almir Plehandzic, 19, of 62 Vinton St., Manchester, was arrested by Manchester police and charged with receiving stolen property and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
According to police, Plehandzic knowingly received property that was stolen in seven burglaries on Whitehall Terrace in the past six months. Hooksett Detective Janet Bouchard said police recovered a 50-inch television, a Nintendo Wii and two iPods from Plehandzic's home during a search Tuesday night.
Dylon Montminy, 18, of 19 Whitehall Terrace, was arrested Tuesday afternoon and charged with seven counts of burglary among other charges.
Montminy allegedly committed seven burglaries at four houses on his own street since June. One of the homes was hit four times, another hit twice.
Police say the resident of the home that was burglarized four times, Chrisy Curran, of 25 Whitehall Terrace, took photographs of Montminy looking through windows of surrounding homes on Monday. She called police, who arrested Montminy on charges of loitering and prowling.
He was charged the following day with the burglaries after admitting the acts in an interview, Bouchard said.
"In a one-hour interview he admitted to all the burglaries on that street," she said.
In an October interview with the Union Leader, Curran said she was worried because all of the burglaries occurred while she or her fiance were at work during the day.
"I'm not seeing an end in sight," she said.
Police now say Curran's home was targeted after Montminy befriended her teenage son. One of the items stolen from Curran in the burglary last month was a 50-inch television.
Plehandzic often sold marijuana to Montminy, which is how police were led to Plehandzic, according to Bouchard.
While some of the items believed to be stolen were recovered, police said many of them were likely sold to pawn shops.
Montminy was released from police custody on personal recognizance bail and is expected for arraignment Dec. 23 in Hooksett District Court.
According to Manchester police, Plehandzic was released on $5,000 cash bail and will be arraigned Dec. 11 in Manchester District Court.
