Why should I care what AARP thinks? They are just middlemen for all the insurance they sell in their magazine. That's why their Medicare Supplements are so high for younger seniors. We need reform to end the donut hole and protect seniors. Only the dirt poor and higher income peple get coverage. We already give it to vetrans and not all were in combat. We pay their meds and their college. Sould have a draft again
- Peetie, Manchester

My husband and I have contacted both Shaheen and Gregg's office on numerous occasions stressing our opposition to the latest Senate Health Bill. We have grown increasingly frustrated with the feeling we are not as constituants overseas being heard by Ms. Shaheen. It is somewhat conforting to read these comments and feel that we are not alone. We must all remember come voting time who was really represented and who was not. GB
- G Borda, Ramstein Germany

Shaheen is just going to go with the party line. She doesn't give a crap about us. The way to change this is to vote her out next time and send the phoney packing.
- Tom, Manchester

Remember the Alamo. Remember what Shaheen did to the cost of buying private insurance while she was Govenor. Rates more than tripled on a family of four trying to buy insurance for themselves. Look south of the Border into Mass and see what wrong with their system. Its in turmoil and rates have skyrocketed. Shaheen needs to go.
- John, Danbury

Wake up people. Government has shown they can run Healthcare. There is enough fraud savings alone in Medicaid to cover the uninsured. To Joanna, you really need to get real and do some research. This is bad for the country. No good at all will come from the Democrats version of Healthcare Reform. Call Gregg yes and tell him to stick to his guns.
- John, Danbury

Does it even matter anymore? Feels like politicians don't listen to their constituents any more or they would realize the vast majority are very much uneasy about this health care program! JFK would be rolling over in his grave right now if he saw what the the democratic party has become.

Anyone remember his line "Don't ask what your Government can do for you..." Evidently Shaheen and her cronies have long forgotten that line!
- Mike, Epping

Hello,
My father, representative, Richard F Ahern was a big supporter of yours. I hope you can realize that that OBAMACARE is just a Democrat plan to insure that the federal government will be all powerful. Once the government controls health care, then there will be a never ending panels of bureaucrats giving guidelines about health care tests. Representative Richard F Ahern's daughter was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was 38 years old. Under the proposed guideline, I am sure she would not have been tested. You need to look carefully before you vote this massive increase in federal government power!
- Richard Ahern, Lilburn,georgia

Jeanne Shaheen is part of the money machine! If you think the hospitals and dr offices are full of freeloaders now, just wait until HER and the democrats get done with this Health Care Reform! Everybody and their brother will be crawling out of the woodwork to get FREE Government Care! This is ubsurd!!! Got to give it to the Dems they know how to get a croud - just mention FREE and you'll get the people to listen and follow. What happened to the integrity of the American people! Have you lost touch with our roots? Who are you people that are ready to line up in any line to get the FREE hand out? Do you have any integrity? morals? values? How about a job? or the desire to be self sufficient? Or are you so sold out on the concept of FREE (aka. entitlement) that you no longer care who or how your FREE stuff is paid for? Come on. We are better than this. Donont let the Democrates ie: Jeanne Shaheen, Paul Hodes, Shea-Porter and Gov. Lynch blind you to your potential with their FREE lunch ticket! If you need a hand for a time then take it, but don't let it be a way of life. Gov. Health Care like Welfare Will become a way of life! Just look at history. It tells the story, it does not lie. Let's learn from it.
- Dee Bourgeois, Weare

AARP just sent me a mailing with cards to send my Hodes & Gregg and Shaheen on the health care plans. But do I get a choice. No! the cards only are to send in a message of support for the Democratic supported plans. AARP has been on board with the Democratic plans from the get go. Next time that AARP sends me a membership renewal, I will put that in the circular file along with the just received cards for my congressional reps.
- Joe Conway, Charlestown, NH

Sue in Manchester, don't worry. If this bill passes, no one will forget it. We'll all pay for in the form a bankrupt country. This is passing more cost to the states! That already can't afford it. California, New York and many will default. This country is headed to HELL and Shaheen is sending us there.
- Richard House, Bedford,nh

I beg others to read or at least skim this bill. Yes it is over 2,000 pages but there is much that is being covered up in my opinion. I did some research on this bill and what it will cost me. I found that it will likely triple my costs and my premiums will skyrocket. As a single income I will be required to pay fines if I cannot afford to pay for the insurance. I have health insurance that works for me, I am sorry some do not, but why should my health insurance be taken away? Read the clause that supposedly allows us to keep our insurance, it is bogus. Shaheen, Hodes, and Shae-Porter do not care what NH people want. They care about themselves. if they cared about what NH wanted why avoid mettings, ignore us, and just send a blanket reply about why they know best. They have nice incomes and a grand health care plan (Thanks to us), they have no worries about feeding their families or the massive debt they will pass to our children. I am so sick over this and the entire way things are being done. UL, is there anything we can do to boot these clowns out of office now? Seriously, they show nothing but disdain for anyone who does not agree. NH needs to wake up, the costs of this bill are much more than what has been reported. We all know how the government does the numbers and they have never predicted the cost of anything correctly. This bill will cost much more than they are telling us. And the States are being stuck with more than half of this cost which means higher taxes. We now know they have stopped the insurers from competing, why? It would make it cost much less if they could compete. Please tell me what I can do to make my voice heard? I have never been involved in anything political but I am scared of not only this but what is going on in government. I have traveled to Washington to try and speak with someone, anyone, but they refuse to listen. Can we not throw them out now? Can we create a petition or even take it to court? We need to do something drastic before they pass this right under our noses. I swear I am just a normal single Mom who wants her children to have the choices I have had. I am scared and frustrated than our NH reps. are not listening. We need to throw them out now!!
- Stacey, manchester

Perhaps Sen. Shaheen should hold a telphone town hall with the half of the NH residents who actually pay federal income taxes. We're the ones who have to pay for this and every other Congressional mandate. Shouldn't our voices be heard?
- Isabell, Exeter

It's a waste of time to call our Reps or Sen. Shaheen with opposing views to the Soros funded Progressive agenda. They have been bought and paid for. As has the AARP. They are in the tank as well.
AARP has long been a Liberal entity under the guise of serving seniors. AARP has received more than 18 million dollars in stimulus funds from the Obama administration . This is being used for "job training"--something like "community organizing" it seems. Zero jobs have been created with this money. AARP's largest money -maker is their Senior Gap Health Insurance.
The Health Reform bills would both gut and ration Medicare as we know it and open up a windfall opportunity for AARP who is now positioned to reap the profits of selling their members out. The payoff for this has already been made.
Seniors need to wake up to AARP and question the price they will pay for those discounted theater tickets. I have cancelled my AARP membership and would urge other seniors to do the same. AARP is not looking out for us.
Also remember how well our legislators have represented and listened to us in 2010 and 2012. We owe it to our grand children to throw them out.

"The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under
the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist
program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without
knowing how it happened."
Norman Thomas: Socialist Part Presidential Candidate. 1948
- Len, Atkinson

PS to Deb of Derry--What's in it for AARP? Their Medigap policy immediately becomes more lucrative if the bill becomes law.

Glen Wyman, the deferral of "benefits" until 2014 is what lets Obama say he won't sign a health-care bill that increases the deficit. Also that, in the Senate version, everything that increases the deficit is in a different bill that is not a health-care bill.
- Spike, Brentwood NH

$700.00 a month? That is a bargain.
My wife and I, both retired pay over $1100.00 per month for Medicare and Medigap insurance even though her retirement plans pays 40% of her premium.

All of my social Security benefits and 30% of her retirement go just for health insurance.

Yes, great country we live in.
- Bill, Wolfeboro

Well if people keep voting these clowns in office then this is what we get. Keep the MASSACHUSETTES VALUES IN MASS!
- Joe, Hudson

If Donna thinks her son's 700.00 is going to be reduced...she needs some help in understanding how this Bill is going to raise 700.00 to about 900.00. People need to understand how this Bill is going to be payed.
- Frank, Sanbornton

Another cowardly attempt to pay lip service to the constituents who voted her in while she pursues Madame Pelosi's agenda.
- DP, Manchester

Another teleconference meeting where Miss Shaheen gets to hand pick the screened questions being asked.

Well AARP I'm just a few years away from membership and I won't be joining. How much stimulus money did it take you to climb on board this government takeover plan? Be honest you did get money from this administration right?
- Deb, Derry

if this health care bill passes, get ready america because the taxes will begin, and coverage will not start until 2014. I thought this administration was about creating job's not eliminating them. all we can hope for is for 2010 and 2012 and get these corruptt elected officials out of office.
- glen wyman, wentworth nh

The Association Against Retired People is doing a great job.
- Leo, Canterbury

Ooh, another Listening Tour that Shaheen can wear like a badge as she votes the party line.
- Spike, Brentwood NH

Jeanne will do exactly as Harry Reid tells her to do. No surprise here. Here loyalty is to the party in Washington not what is right for NH. Otherwise she would not be cowering from her constituents.
- Mike, Derry

I have called Senator Shaheen's office and had her twenty year old office aide pay rapt attention to the points I made about the damage this legislation will cause to our health care system. (202-224-3121) Her aide even thanked me afterwards for explaining things in a way that really made sense to her (I imagine they listen to alot of ranting and raving). It's beyond frustrating though, that I can't seem to get my Senator to listen or even address that there are concerned citizens in NH.

This scripted "teleconference" with govt owned AARP is a slap in the face to those of us who want to be heard. Her "fielding questions" (LOL) was like asking the Pope if he's Catholic or asking trick or treaters if they want some candy.
- jem, rye

Shaheen just doesn't care what her constituents want regarding health care.
- Bob, Salem

When is Jeanne going to start listening to ALL her constiuents? Seems she only has ears for AARP!!!! What an outrage. Can't reach her by phone. Can't get your message to her by mail. Maybe she'll get it when we vote her OUT in the next election!!! Let's just hope it is not too late to UNDO all the damage her and the Liberal Democrates have done to our great Granit State! and Country. Public Option is a BAD Option! Can't you hear us Jeanne!!! NH is saying NO to the Public Option!!! What part of NO do you not understand! Get off your elitest high horse before it is too late and listen to the people of NH! Vote NO to this outrageous bill! Do the right thing and JUST SAY NO! It is not good for our country! Spending us into more debt is not the answer. Get rid of the fraud and waste that is in your own backyard frist and then maybe you can see the fraud and waste that is in the healthcare system. Don't grow our government! Decrease it!!! We do not want more taxes!!! We want less!!! We do not want more government!!! We want less! Stop working to take our freedom and liberty from us. You took an oath to uphold our constitution.... did you forget that? Or have you got your head so far up the Pelosi/Reid worm hole that you no longer can see truth or reason? It's never to late to do the right and honest thing. Let's see what you are truely made of....your vote will be the tell all, end all.
- Dee, Weare,NH

I think congress and all the leaders should sign up for this health plan and if it works really well then the people could opt-in if they choose to do so. I do not trust anyone who vote themselves a pay raise with the taxpayers money and tell us "Boy do I have a deal for you" We will extend your unemployment. We need the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth. I am a American and I will except nothing less, and I will work for pay!
- Linda, Derry

Oh wow, another closed town hall where Mean Jeanne didn't have to face her constituents, at least the ones she is not so sure agree with her position already, which is I'd say the majority in NH.

Too bad we have to suffer this twit for 5 more years. We will not forget about it if she DARES vote for this!
