NASHUA -- Detectives looking into allegations that 52-year-old Nashua resident Walter McKnight violated the terms of the state Sex Offender Registry by failing to register a series of online identifiers with authorities took him into custody Tuesday, police said.

McKnight was charged with 12 felony offenses, the result of detectives' investigation that police say revealed McKnight allegedly created "numerous email and social media accounts," known as "online identifiers," but failed to notify authorities, which he is required to do as a convicted Tier III sex offender.
